God Bless America!!!

The events of yesterday as our "NEW" President took office found me a little sick to my stomach and a little irritated. I know that I suffer with IRRITATION, yes I have been diagnosed:) Yesterday I didn't watch the inauguration, I was at court in Holbrook, over matters with our foster daughter (CPS crap). When I got home around 2 it was still on the T.V., so I watched a little of it. My son Brock (not Barack) got home and asked me if I watched it and I told him I hadn't. He said "mom we watched it today and my teacher said we are a part of history" I said "Yes - you are son". He said "mom, you should of heard the prayer that was said". I then asked him about the prayer. He replied "It was a forever long prayer and I don't think the person knew who he was talking to"!! I know that President Obama didn't offer the prayer but I must admit his comment really hit me, for me that's what I have been struggling with about our "NEW" President. I don't feel he is a GOD FEARING MAN and that is why my stomach was nervous all day. Our Founding Fathers turned to God and through God our Constitution was constructed and set in place and I worry and wonder just how much our "NEW" President will turn to him for help and guidance with ALL the decisions he has to make in regards to our GREAT Nation!!! I'm grateful for my Brock and the knowledge that he has at such a young age, that there is a God in Heaven and to him and only him we pray!! I am especially grateful that I can pray to him in times of uneasiness, uncertainty and doubt.

SO LONG TO SODA!!

Okay - so I came up with this crazy new years resolution to give up soda, or should I say CAFFEINE!! I got to feeling guilty when I read an article in the Ensign and one in the New Era on caffeine. I rationalized for a LONG while and convinced myself that I really didn't have that big of a problem but it kept really bugging me, so I decided in 2009 I was going to be Caffeine free (except for Chocolate - that will never happen:) Let me just tell you that it has been one of the hardest things that I have ever done. I had a terrible( and I mean terrible) headache for about 10 days. I slept sitting up because if I tried to lie down I thought my head was going to blow!! There was a couple of times in the night when I thought Tim was going to have to drive me to the E.R.. I have since discovered and learned that I probably should have tried to wean myself off of it, although I think that would have been a challenge for me, because I seem to be an "ALL OR NOTHIN" kind of gal!! It has been a lot harder then I thought and the craving is still there. I guess you could say I have an ADDICTION!! Just thinking about what my body and mind (and spirit) has gone through the last 2 weeks in an effort to get off the stuff is enough for me to say" I will never go there again"!!!!

THOU SHALT NOT KILL!!

Okay - have you ever had one of those days where you have absolutely had enough?? I had been going on my 3rd day of a lingering headache. I was tired of feeling like crap and when I get headaches I am not very FUN to be around. My little guys had pretty much spent 2 days of doing whatever they wanted, so you can imagine what my house looked like:) We started picking things up around the house and I went to put something up that belonged in my little boys bedroom. They were in their room cleaning (I mean playing) and as I entered their absolutely trashed room I said under my breath "I'm going to kill someone". Yes I know I shouldn't of said what I said, (my migraine was speaking). Nate heard me and after a loud gasp said "Mom, We Don't Kill People - We Kiss People"!!! I grabbed him and started kissing his face all over!!!
That funny little comment really did save his life:)!!!!! There is never a quiet, dull or clean moment with raising boys, but boy I sure do LOVE them!!!!

Sisterly Love!!

I LOVE RELIEF SOCIETY!! Last night we gathered together (young and old) and had our annual Christmas party/Enrichment Night. We paraded around in Christmas socks, now when I say paraded, I mean paraded, some sisters were absolutely hilarious. We then fought over the BEST Christmas tree ornament, nobody actually threw a punch but it was great fun!! It's not very often that you get to mix and mingle with such amazing women. When you serve in other auxiliaries at times you feel like you are not a part of Relief Society and that you miss out, but I totally loved the way I felt last night. I am so thankful for this amazing organization, I love it when we gather together, visit, laugh and uplift each other. I walked away last night so grateful to be a part of it all!!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME!!!

What a Saturday!!! I FINALLY saw Celine Dion in concert!!!! It was absolutely amazing. Yes - Merry Christmas to me, my favorite sister gave me a ticket to her concert as a early Christmas present. I have been breaking a commandment for quite sometime (thou shalt not covet). I have been so envious of others who have seen this gifted artist. She has truly been blessed with a gift, her vocals are beyond belief and HURRAY for me because I don't have to covet anymore!!!! THANK YOU sweet sister, I had such a great time!! Funny story - This guy threw something up on the stage and after she finished singing a song she went and picked the item up. It was his drivers license, she joked around with him a little and asked him if he wanted it back and of course he said yes. She told him to come and get it, so obviously he was freaking out. He went up to the stage and she asked him if there was something he wanted to say (I am thinking to myself this guy is so LUCKY, a chance of a lifetime) and he turns to her and says..."MY BOYFRIEND REALLY WANTS TO MEET YOU"!!! Yeah - that's what he said - What an IDIOT!!!!!!!(need I say more)
