Sick of things not working!!!!

I married a Tim but not a "Tim The Tool Man"!!! I really am tired of things not working. I have been without a dishwasher forever and that is not so bad, besides it's been great for my kids to have to learn to wash dishes by hand, you know the "Good Old Fashioned Way"!! Well- a few weeks ago our heater in the back part of our house stopped working and that is where my laundry room is and it is FREEZING back there. I called our neighbor who is Mr. Fix It and he spent hours and had no luck. A few days after that I discovered that the hot water heater (also in the back part of our house) wasn't working, so I had Tim take a look at it and he informed me that it had burned up. I am just grateful it didn't burn the house down, when he took off the front panel you could totally tell where it had started on fire:( Well - days have gone by and nobody in this household seems to be to worried about it because it doesn't AFFECT them like it does me. I know I am having a pitty party and I just need to suck it up and make some phone calls and take care of it but I don't want to!!!! Who's job is it anyways??? The Mans or the Womans???

I think you are entitled to a pitty party!! I think it should be the man's job, but knowing Tim, and most men, if you want it fixed any time soon, you may want to take care of it yourself!!

I feel the pain!! My car needed looked at for months so I threatened spencer that I was going to take it in myself. So he decided to take a look at it. All it was, was a $33.00 part and a little bit of elbow grease and it was fixed. But it took months!!Dont get me wrong, I still love him, you just have to keep on them from time to time.

I think it is the guys job to deal with stuff like that. But knowing David he would make me make all the calls since he has to work all day and I'm at home. I just hate dealing with stuff like that! Love you guys!

I feel your pain, and send you my pitty! It is "technically" the "Man of the House's" job, but...since there are times when us women are the "Men" of the house, we are the ones stuck with getting it done. I married a "not so handyman" too, if I need something fixed, I tell him its broken and he replies with a simple "okay"...meaning..."then fix it". Thank goodness my dad spent lots of time explaining EvERYthinG to me, now I know why he was so adamant on explaining and teaching, he knew Id marry Nic! Oh ya, and...Nic knows I will fix it or get it fixed (better/quicker than he can), so he doesnt even waste his time thinking about my problems with things around the house...argh! I love him to death, but we both know where his weakness' lie.

I feel for you.. If I want something done, I have learned with Clay I just start doing it myself and he WILL finish it.. He is a perfectionist and so it works in my favor..

Well, Jami - my mom is a plumber, carpenter, mechanic, all of the above because of this same reason. If she wants it fixed, she has to fix it herself.

Me, I call my father-in-law. I don't know what I'll do when he isn't around...

I'll probably be writing on my blog just like you are right now.

I think you need to go on strike again. :) I remember when you did that last time. I always threaten, but it only affects me because our 'filth' tolerance level is pretty high at my house
